Meet Cara

Hi! I’m Cara- Registered Physiotherapist, Owner, and Clinical Director at Toronto Pessary Clinic. I consider it an honor and am thrilled to walk alongside you in your journey to optimizing your health, well-being, and function.

While completing my master’s degree in Physical Therapy at the University of Saskatchewan in 2013, I quickly realized my desire to work with women in the field of pelvic health. The sensitive nature of this area of the body, combined with the potential to make huge quality of life improvements through physical therapy, compelled me to seek extensive continuing education in the specific area of pelvic health, including training in pessary assessment and fitting. I enjoy my role as a Teaching Assistant at Pelvic Health Solutions, a private educational company devoted to increasing awareness about pelvic health and training physiotherapists and other healthcare professionals on how to assess and treat pelvic health conditions. I am a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association as well as the Canadian Society for Pelvic Medicine.

After moving to Toronto in 2016, I began to see a need for more healthcare professionals to provide pessary services. My clients who needed this service often had to wait several months before seeing the appropriately trained professional. And so, in 2018, Toronto Pessary Clinic was established in response to an ever-increasing demand for access to knowledgeable, compassionate healthcare professionals trained to assess and fit pessaries for women seeking conservative management for conditions such as pelvic organ prolapse and stress urinary incontinence.
